Losing someone you love is never easy, especially when it comes to navigating finances and legal processes. But even in the midst of grief, knowing how to claim your family pension through SPARSH can provide much-needed support during this difficult time. This guide is here to walk you through the steps, step-by-step, using simple language you can understand, all the way from gathering documents to receiving your pension.

First Things First:

Before jumping into the SPARSH website, gather these documents:

Death Certificate:A scanned copy of the official document confirming your partner's passing.
Aadhaar Card (Both Sides):Your own scanned Aadhaar card, ensuring both sides are clear and readable.
PAN Card:A scanned copy of your PAN card for identification purposes.
Cancelled Cheque (Optional, but Recommended):A scan of a cancelled cheque from the bank account you want to receive your family pension in. Ideally, use the same joint account where your partner previously received their pension.

Now, Breathe and Access SPARSH:

1Head to the SPARSH website:
2Without logging in, scroll down to "Quick Links" at the bottom and click "View ALL SERVICES."
3Click on "Start Family Pension/ Report Death."
4Upload the scanned death certificate.
5Fill in all the required personal details accurately.
6Submit and wait! PCDA (P) will verify your information.
7Once confirmed, you'll receive a Tracking ID (write it down!). This helps you track your application progress.
8SPARSH will create a new Family Pension Order (PPO) and send it via SMS with a password to your registered mobile number.
9Link your Aadhaar card and submit a new Life Certificate.
10Now, you can breathe again! Your family pension will start flowing.
