Step 1 | Make sure you have a UPI-enabled mobile application installed on your smartphone. |
Step 2 | Launch the UPI app and navigate to the payment section. This is usually the home screen or the main page of the app where you initiate transactions. |
Step 3 | Within the payment section, select the option labeled as "Request Money," "Collect Money," or something similar. |
Step 4 | Enter the UPI ID or VPA (Virtual Payment Address) of the person from whom you want to request money. If you're unsure about their UPI ID, you can usually select the contact from your phone's address book or use their mobile number linked to their UPI account. |
Step 5 | Enter the specific amount you wish to request from the person. You may also have the option to include a note or description to provide context for the payment request. |
Step 6 | Review the payment request details, including the payee's information and the requested amount, to ensure accuracy. Once you're satisfied, confirm the request by following the on-screen instructions. |
Step 7 | After confirming the payment request, the UPI app will send a notification or message to the payee, informing them about the request for payment. The payee will receive a notification on their UPI-enabled app with the details of the request. |
Step 8 | Once the payee receives the payment request, they can choose to approve and make the payment through their UPI app. You will receive a notification or message when the payment is made, and the funds will be transferred directly to your linked bank account. |
Step 9 | You can track and verify the status of your UPI payment requests by accessing the transaction history or request section within your UPI app. This allows you to stay updated on the progress of your payment requests. |
